This past weekend we decided to venture out to Holly Hop Ice Cream Shoppe on 34th street. After a couple of recommendations from family members we decided to try it out. Who could say no to an ice cream shoppe? Not me.
When we arrived at the shoppe I was pleasantly surprised at how many people also like ice cream on a chilly day. The place was packed with ice cream connoisseurs like ourselves. The decor is how you would imagine an old 50′s-60′s ice cream store. Of course I wasn’t born during that time but thats how I would imagine it. And what kind place would this be without an old juke box in the corner playing songs with old-time memorabilia hanging on the walls. This is the place to bring your family or friends and treat them to ice cream, shakes or a malt.
While placing an ice cream order I was amazed at the long list of food items that Holly Hops has to offer. I had no idea that they also served food here as well. I have not tried out the food but the ice cream is up to par. After pacing back and forth a hundred times looking at all the different ice cream flavors our family had narrowed it down.
- Olivia – Birthday Cake Ice Cream with sprinkles in a small cup (one scoop)
- Shaun – Strawberry Ice Cream in a glass (2 scoops)
- Meagan – Cookies and Cream with another scoop of Butterfinger Ice Cream in a waffle cup (2 scoops)
We will definitely be back to get more ice cream and to try out the food selection.
Holly Hop also has a huge room next door for parties. The convenience of having your own party room plus ice cream next door is a win-win in my book.
